Plans
Cosmograph has Free, Pro, and Team plans. Pro is for private individual workflows; Team adds shared-workspace ownership, roles, invitations, and seat billing. For current availability and pricing, see the Cosmograph Pricing page. To upgrade or manage an account, open the Subscription page in the Cosmograph web application.

Team membership gives members Pro-level feature access while the Team subscription remains active. Team members cannot create or own teams or manage the ownerâs billing.
Upgrade and manage a plan
- Sign in to the Cosmograph web application.
- Open Subscription from the account menu or visit the Subscription page.
- Select the plan you need and follow the checkout steps.
The Subscription page is the source of truth for your current plan, billing status, seats, and available plan actions. Prices and billing terms can change, so this guide does not list fixed amounts. Plan changes can include prorated charges or refunds, which are shown before confirmation.
If you switch away from a paid plan, features that require paid access become unavailable after the subscription change. Switching away from Team also removes teammates and pending invitations from teams you own; see Downgrading from Team.
Pro
Pro is the paid plan for individual researchers, analysts, and creators who need a private solo workflow. It includes the Free features plus unlimited saved projects, password-protected publishing, direct user sharing, higher AI Assistant limits, and personal API-key settings.
Share directly with a user
Pro users can share a saved project with a specific registered user:
- Open the project.
- Select Share⊠> Share with user.
- Enter the collaboratorâs account email address.
- Select Share.
To remove access later, open Share⊠> Manage access and revoke the userâs share. See Sharing for all available sharing methods.
Direct user sharing grants read-only access to the saved project. The recipient can explore the graph and participate in discussions, but cannot edit, save, or re-share the ownerâs project. It is different from publishing a read-only URL, and the recipient must already have a registered Cosmograph account.
Teams
Teams provide a shared workspace for collaborating on projects. The Team plan includes Pro-level access for the owner and additional paid seats for non-owner members and active invitations.
Team roles
| Role | What the role can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Renames the team, manages members and invitations, manages subscription and seats, and can delete the team. The owner cannot leave the team. |
| Admin | Renames the team, manages members and invitations, and can request additional seats from the owner. Admins cannot manage billing or delete the team. |
| Member | Opens projects shared with the team, participates in discussions, and can leave the team. |
The exact actions available in the Teams page depend on the role and the teamâs billing state.
Create a team
- Sign in to Cosmograph.
- Open Teams from the account menu.
- Select Create team.
- Enter a team name and confirm.
Creating and owning a team requires an active Team subscription. If the account is not on Team, the app sends you to Subscription to upgrade.
Invite teammates
Owners and admins can invite people from the Teams page:
- Open Teams and choose a team you manage.
- Select Invite.
- Enter the teammateâs email address and send the invitation.
Invitations can be sent to an email address whether or not that person already has a Cosmograph account. The recipient must sign in or create an account to join the team.
Pending invitations reserve a paid team seat. Invitations expire after the period shown in the invitation and can be resent or revoked while they are pending.
When an invite is accepted, the person becomes a team member and keeps the same billable seat. Declined, expired, or revoked invitations no longer count as active pending seats.
Manage members and teams
Owners and admins can rename a team, remove members, resend invitations, and revoke invitations. The owner can delete the team; admins and members can choose Leave from the Teams page.
Leaving or being removed from a team removes access to projects shared with that team. If the team is inactive, team sharing and team management remain disabled until the owner restores billing.
Request additional seats
Adding a member or pending invitation needs an available paid seat. An owner can update seats through Subscription. When an admin needs more seats, Cosmograph prompts them to request the increase; the owner receives a notification and email with a link to review billing.
Share a project with a team
Team owners and active Team members can share a project they own with one of their active teams from Share⊠> Share with team. Everyone who can access that team can then open the project read-only and participate in its discussions.
To stop sharing, open Share⊠> Manage access and revoke the teamâs access. See Sharing for the other ways to publish or share a project.
Team seats and billing
The Team plan includes one owner seat. Each accepted non-owner member and each active pending invitation is counted as one additional seat. The owner is not charged as an additional member seat.
The Teams page shows accepted members, pending invitations, and the team total when billing information is available. The Subscription page provides the ownerâs detailed team billing breakdown.
Team billing is managed by the team owner. If the subscription becomes inactive or does not cover the required seats, invitations, team sharing, and some team management actions are disabled until billing is restored.
Downgrading from Team
When an owner switches away from Team, teammates and pending invitations in teams owned by that account are removed. The team records remain in the account so the owner can restore Team later, but team collaboration is disabled while billing is inactive.
Members of a team owned by someone else should contact that owner if team access becomes unavailable. Their access depends on the ownerâs active Team billing.
